Recently we had a couple of floors to do in Gayndah, Queensland. One in particular was a bit of a challenge. This particular one had a mix of Hoop Pine boards and Hardwood, rooms added here and there, and generally it was a challenging job on this 100+ year old timber home.

One thing that is quite commonly found in these older homes is about a quintillion nails in the flooring through repairs to squeaky floor boards over the years, so there were sore knees all round from punching them all down. But the results speak for themselves.

Three coats of High Gloss Poly Urethane was used on this floor, really bringing the home to life.

TIP: See that shadow to the right of the bathtub? That is caused by water getting through the old finish (previously an acrylic) so it pays to ensure that you maintain your timber floors through proper, but minimal, regular maintenance. (See our ‘Looking After Your New Floor‘ article.)
